I like having fun with words, hence the goofy title. I love words..I love words like “ginormous.” I like “gazillion.” I also like “beauteous.” Are they real words? I have no clue, but if we use them enough, maybe they will be. And, when we use them nonchalant-like in a sentence, without smirking or giggling, then people think they are a word, and they will then go and impress their own friends later on.
But what I’m getting to is that not only do I love words, but I absolutely love writing. I want to marry writing, but that’s dumb. But you get the idea.
And, with this new project: a brand new website, MJWRITES.COM, a brand new wordpress site, and hopefully, a brand new book in about two months (that means I better get cracking), I’m embarking on a mission. To encourage others to write. And if you want to write and need a little “umph,” then you’re in the right place.
If you don’t like to write, that’s okay. You probably have another talent, like cooking or quilting. And this blog, website, and book will not be for you. But if you KNOW someone who likes to write, then you can still listen up.
Visit my blog often, that is if you like to write, and I’ll provide some handy tips on getting started, and then getting started again when you get a little behind, and I’ll be happy to take your questions. I don’t know everything, but I do know about publishing, and what areas you can consider if you want to write and GET PAID. And I can read your stuff, proof it, offer suggestions. If you want to write press releases, I’m really good at that.
After all, I’ve been writing since the era known as the “1970′s.” That’s when we had typewriters!! That didn’t plug in, and if you wanted to have a copy of what you typed, you’d have something called, “CARBON PAPER.” And that would get your hands all purple-y. Not fun. White Out was really big!! And that got your finger tips all white. It was like caveman times. So, that’s a long time.
Next time: Sharpening your pencils. Really.
